PRIMARY

Grades 1, 2, and 3

In Grades 1, 2, and 3, students have a class teacher who is responsible for most lessons and forms a close relationship with both the students and their families. The class teacher is the main point of contact for communication between home and school. They ensure that students are safe, happy, and emotionally supported, while promoting independence and nurturing social skills such as cooperation, respect, empathy, and self-control. These years are foundational, and the class teacher works with the same group of students over the three years, fostering a strong sense of community.

- Literacy: Daily 15-minute reading sessions help students build confidence in reading and writing in English.

- Numeracy: Concepts are taught in fun, engaging ways, with game-based learning, smartboard apps, and real-world connections.

- Technology: Students are introduced to technology with the support of computer labs and smartboards in every classroom.

Grades 4, 5, and 6

In Grades 4, 5, and 6, students continue to grow, becoming more independent learners. Specialist subject teachers guide them through their educational journey, while homeroom teachers maintain communication with parents and ensure student well-being. These students are encouraged to be role models and are given opportunities to take responsibility for their learning.

- Independent Learning: Students are involved in setting learning goals and are encouraged to take ownership of their learning.

- Community Activities: Events such as spelling bees, handwriting competitions, educational field trips, and festivals provide opportunities for fun, engagement, and personal growth.

- Collaborative Learning: Teachers create a supportive and collaborative environment where students can thrive both academically and socially.
